An exciting challenge for budding designers and artists who will relish the idea of turning this ‘blank canvas’ space into a stylish room. There are lots of stimulating ideas included, on 12 slides, for children to use and/or be inspired by. This project is easily differentiated dependent on ability and children can work in pairs or groups if they wish. Suitable for KS1 and KS2.

A collection of 7 pages of examples of word art on different themes. This is a good starter for Visual Poetry and makes a nice art lesson. Fits in with Graphic Design and Advertising too.

A set of cards showing a picture for each letter of the alphabet with a technology / computer focus. There is a blank alphabet chart where children can write down what each letter represents complete with an answer sheet.

Here is a fun activity for KS2 pupils. There is a doodle poster showing items relating to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. These images can be named, categorised and discussions around their purpose and value . Page 2 is a sheet for pupils to create their own STEM doodles. Page 3 is a table where pupils can list the items sorting them into the 4 categories and also showing where an item may link to all 4 areas. Key vocabulary may be useful for some pupils to aid spelling and brief descriptions to aid understanding.

4 sheets of colour flashcards related to making pancakes for EYFS and KS1. Each page shows 6 pictures including ingredients for making pancakes, equipment needed for cooking and preparing, images of pancakes and ideas for decorating your pancakes. Links nicely to pancake day, use as part of your cooking lesson or add to displays. Duplicate the cards for matching games.

A creative activity linked to holidays, clothing, pattern, shape, colour and animals. Share with the children, the 6 different colour design ideas for flip flops and discuss animal patterns, use of gems and colour. Children can then use the templates provided to design and make their own flip flops. Alternatively, they could draw around their own feet instead of using the templates provided. Add collage and paint for a more 3D effect.

Activity ideas for your Easter or Chocolate Topic Work at KS1. Children can design their own chocolate bar and wrapper, carry out a favourite chocolate survey, put chocolate types into alphabetical order and use the Easter wordmat to write about Easter.
